Tuesday’s quotes #30 – And the crownless shall be king…

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”

— JRR Tolkien, “The Fellowship of the Ring”

What a wonderful thought….

  1. I never thought about it before, but I think this poem about Aragorn could apply in a way to King Arthur — mostly the being king again part, of course. I wonder if King Arthur will have to work as hard as Aragorn to regain his crown if and when he does come back to England? 🙂
