It’s raining today. This is a very good thing since the area I live in has been well below average in rainfall (& snowfall) for over a year now. We did have a, brief, unusually wet period in late spring, but overall it hasn’t been good. So rain, always needed by August around here in a good year, is especially welcome right now.
The picture, which I took this weekend, before the rain, shows that Erma Bombeck was not quite correct – the grass is not greener over the septic tank – there’s concrete blocking the roots. It is however much greener over the laterals of the leach field.
We also have a lovely green stripe running from the well’s standpipe to the house…
