“Simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world.”
— Lao Tzu
I’ve been somewhat foiled again this week – it’s that whole day job thing. Really wish I could afford to not have one…
As a result, this post isn’t quite what I’d planned, but no matter – there’s a weekend coming & then I will also, FINALLY, catch up on my reading, commenting & sharing. And will finish the post that was supposed to be ready today. And hopefully will also get a start on this month’s compassion post on listening – which I just realized is supposed to be written by next Thursday.
And so, I am instead sharing these words of wisdom from the Tao Te Ching as a reminder to myself that everything will be fine as long as I don’t get stalled in what is not fine now.
