Tuesday’s Quotes – November 1, 2016 – the power of opinion

“To think that because those who wield power in society wield in the end that of government, therefore it is of no use to attempt to influence the constitution of the government by acting on opinion, is to forget that opinion is itself one of the greatest active social forces. One person with a belief is a social power equal to ninety-nine who have only interests.”
― John Stuart Mill

Something to think about as we enter the final days of what has truly been a long and contentious election season – especially for those who continue to feel that their voices aren’t heard, that their votes don’t matter. They are when enough voices rise together, and they do when everyone who is eligible to vote actually does vote.
