Another weekend is upon us, and the very contentious US presidential election season (& a fairly significant congressional election, as well) will soon be over – for better or worse. But, this is a school weekend for me, and I still have homework to do, so I need to keep my mind relatively focused on other things. School has also made this the first year in the past 10 that I have chosen to skip NaNoWriMo – and I miss it. I wish everyone who is participating this month the best of luck with your stories. We all have stories inside us, we just need to find the way that works for us individually to get them told.
“To read fiction means to play a game by which we give sense to the immensity of things that happened, are happening, or will happen in the actual world. By reading narrative, we escape the anxiety that attacks us when we try to say something true about the world. This is the consoling function of narrative — the reason people tell stories, and have told stories from the beginning of time.”
― Umberto Eco
And on that note, have a wonderful, relaxing, weekend.
Wildflowers in the woods near the water – I have no idea at all what they are. If you know – or have a guess – please let me know.
