The January Thaw came through with a vengeance this year. About a day and a half of ridiculously warm weather (it made it to 60F/15C today) sandwiched between ridiculously cold weather (2 weeks of temperatures in the single digits F – below zero C) & the forecast high for Sunday is 20F/-6C. So I guess the thaw is coming to an end. Sorry to see it go so soon.

It’s also a 3 day weekend for us – the official Monday holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday fall on his birthday this year – so for the 3rd week out of the past 4, I have the good fortune to have a 4 day work week.  Of course that also means that I have another 3 day weekend to pretend that I’ll get something accomplished. But I also try to heed the words of Lao Tzu:

“Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”

There is still much to be done to declutter and get the house ready to sell, and the cold weather is probably the best time to tackle it, and the journey needs to start sooner rather than later. One small step at a time.
