Tuesday’s Quotes July 24, 2018 – Jung

“We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses.” — Carl Jung

An early birthday post for Swiss psychoanalyst Carl G. Jung. Jung was born on July 26, 1875  in Kesswill, Switzerland. He passed away in 1961 at 86. Courtesy of Jung’s theories. I know that I’m an introvert. Not sure of the value of that tidbit – and there are many in the field that believe those introvert/extrovert types are invalid – but I really am one….

This particular quote resonates quite a bit with me in our highly polarized world. It’s unfortunate that many seem unaware of this basic truth.

  1. I think that to effect change in one’s self, it is more of a recognition than an acceptance.
In supporting changes in behaviour in others, I steer towards what ‘you’ want to happen and how can ‘you’ get there. Much faster results than trying to find out why!
