About

Welcome to Time for my thoughts.

As the name implies, the purpose of this blog is to give me an opportunity to share my thoughts & opinions on various topics – most topical, some not. My hope is that you will share your thoughts on those topics with me in the spirit of open dialogue. I can’t promise to be interesting to everyone, or even anyone, all of the time, but sometimes I will have something to say that I want others to hear. If I can keep you engaged in a positive way – at least part of the time – whether we agree or not, then my goal has been met.

Please feel free to comment on any post – I’m interested in your thoughts about the posts, as well as your feedback on the blog itself.

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit.

If you would like to contact me directly, rather than leaving a public comment, please complete the information requested below:

  1. Hello…sorry for all the confusion lately, but I changed up blogs again. This change is final, don’t worry. I’m still Emma, but I’m back to Far Beyond the Stars—with a different name and url! You’ll find it at ScienceAtYourDoorstep.com. Ftlofacts is now an archive for old content that doesn’t fit my new and improved brand—science! (Yeah, I know, it was science before, but I sort of kept posting other stuff that wasn’t science…now it’s *just* science.)

Anyway, sorry for all the confusion, but this is how it’s gonna stay. 🙂

    1. No worries, Emma – sometimes things just need a few iterations before we get them where we want them. Thanks for the contact though – I have to confess that I had started to get a bit confused. Keep writing & keep science-ing. 🙂

  2. Hey Carol,
Perse here, but now you know my real name. 🙂 Just wanted to let you know that I’ve switched my focus to a different blog. Starting up For the Love of Facts at https://ftlofacts.wordpress.com. It’s the same blog as Far Beyond the Stars just as far as the science goes. The tagline pretty much says it all.
For its part, Far Beyond the Stars is done. Not gonna be posting there anymore and it’ll go private soon.
Thanks for all your support! It’s much appreciated. 🙂

    1. Thanks for letting me know – I’ve been so far behind with everything lately, but I was wondering about your blog recently – are you going to blog under your real name now or keep using Perse?

      1. It’s Emma now. Yeah, I know, Far Beyond the Stars sort of disappeared for a bit. But it’s back now, in the form of ftlofacts. At least the science part is. Ftlofacts is hopefully a more diverse and more inclusive blog than old Far Beyond, with the overarching theme being facts and civil discussion. But it’s also a platform for writing practice and improving my descriptive abilities. Just take a look at my first post, Nature’s Fireworks 😉

      1. *That* is not a problem. Honestly, some of the award acceptance posts I’m writing this evening have been sitting in my drafts folder since July. And even January. I totally get time constraints.
